OUR STORY
We are a startup media firm with an initial emphasis on digital media and future goals for producing content for TV, film, streamer networks, and cross media platforms.
Our founding mission is to choose our projects selectively, combining entertainment with cultural value. Every story has a source, a seed, a reason for being. Our aim is to foreground these elements so storytelling becomes a journey to cultural exploration. Myth-based fiction for kids. Comedy-horror for lovers of Mafia subculture. Social impact stories on exclusionary politics. These works and others currently in development invite the audience to look beyond the content to its real-world inspiration.

PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

DETENTION!: A short novel targeted to the MG “reluctant reader” who wants a high degree of action-adventure, fantasy, comedy, and overall entertainment but prefers a briefer time commitment and an easier read. The book introduces the (projected) series EXTREME BEAST: THE CHRONICLES, which follows the exploits of three (mostly) ordinary kids as they foil an extremely beastly plot to make a mega-monster from a cosmos-full of creepy creatures and take over the world.
THE DICK WHISPERER: Inspired by Mafia culture and history, this (projected) series for the small screen is a comical spoof of mobster storytelling, with a supernatural edge. Set in a magical NYC, where the criminal underground deals in occult contraband, the stories feature two opposing characters. Small time mob boss Tony Vesuvio has acquired the Capo from the black market. A severed head cased in an enchanted box, the creature holds the secrets to a long-buried Mafia treasure, and Tony wants them. Joey Gocca, retired NYPD cop, can communicate with the ghosts of dead detectives and deceased Mafia dons, but he refuses to help Vesuvio. The result is a quest for clues that takes these characters on a global journey.
THE GARBAGE EXPERIENCE: A blog series featuring both video pieces and guest essays on the politics of exclusion in the US.ick here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.

Maureen is that rare breed of teacher who not only extracted the various elements of my story and swiftly understood how they did or did not work together, but she also actively guided me to this same nuanced understanding and trained me to be my own best editor.
Her mastery of structure is unparalleled, but her experience in the film industry (over eight years as a senior story analyst for Miramax) offers a level of sophistication, expertise, and inside knowledge that you simply can’t find from the vast majority of screenwriting coaches.
She knows what it takes to get a script started, analyzed, revised and, most importantly, she knows what it takes to get both “indie” and studio scripts greenlighted and actually made.
As a former “gatekeeper,” she knows what the Hollywood powers-that-be are looking for. Working with someone as insightful as Maureen has greatly improved my writing, my understanding of the industry, and my confidence to keep moving forward as an artist.-- Adam Nemett, Writer/Producer/Director, THE INSTRUMENT and VERITY'S MILLION; Instructor of Cinema Studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art; and Graduate of Creative Writing Program, Princeton

Maureen acts as a writer’s mirror, providing valuable insight into one’s own creation and reflecting on the practical ways in which it can be made better.-- Lisa Luciani, Writer, GUTTERFLOWERS

. . . [T]he heart of our progress was Maureen and her individual feedback. Not even my Northwestern University creative writing thesis advisor gave me as comprehensive notes as Maureen did.
I was completely unprepared for and blown away by her attention, persistence, insight and wisdom.

When in my life has anyone sat with me for five hours analyzing my work?... I not only had a sense of high expectations but knew that Maureen would do all she could to get us there. She didn’t simply tell me what needed to be changed, but taught me how to look at a script and better evaluate what was and wasn’t working and why..
. .I’m not the same writer I was .... The combination of lectures and intensive work with Maureen helped me develop new skills and a perspective that applies to all my work.

Reading my past scripts that we did not discuss in the program, I now see what I need to do to make them the best they can be.-- Robert Guthrie, Writer, DOUBLE VISION
