A New Collaboration
We welcome our new partnership with documentarian and producer Jose M. Pichardo Jr. (Pichardo Productions, LLC) in developing and producing THE GARBAGE EXPERIENCE, a multi-media project that represents our first foray into social impact programming.
Mr. Pichardo is a documentary filmmaker and producer whose work focuses on history, civil rights, and community-centered storytelling. Through projects developed in New Jersey, New York, and the Mississippi Delta, he explores the intersection of public memory, social impact, and narrative development. His films combine research-driven development with staged production strategy, emphasizing strong R&D foundations before full-scale rollout. In collaboration with Maureen Nolan, he is helping shape a series exploring disability stigma through essays, filmed conversations, and curated short-form storytelling.

THE GARBAGE EXPERIENCE (under the larger umbrella of THE STIGMA PROJECT) will launch this year as a dedicated website combining short films and videos with articles, essays, reportage, plus audience response and commentary.
Our goal is to inspire public dialogue on the topic of disability stigma. Interviews, profile pieces, journalism, essays of reflection or opinion, will explore the question of how approximately 45 million disabled people living in the US experience stigmatization and lack of legal and social equity in all areas – politics, law, employment, arts and culture, lifestyle. Can they speak honestly about the garbage they encounter? And what are possible solutions?
